Happy New Year!

2010 already, and it only seems like 5 minutes ago we were bringing in the Millennium!

The start of a new year brings a renewed attempt at my Photo-A-Day project. This year promises to be exciting, so the plan is to get this blog back up and running, expand it beyond the kitchen, and display each PAD.

Today, the first day of the year, was spent doing one of my favouritist things – watching Bristol Rugby play at home at the Memorial Ground. It was a record attendance for this season, with 7714 fans braving the cold (though it was warmer than Exeter last weekend!). Bristol scored 4 tries in their 31-15 win against the Cornish Pirates, gaining another bonus point in the process, and maintaining their place at the top of the Championship.

The atmosphere is always great at any Rugby match, but I always enjoy the antics of Brizzley, the Bristol team mascot. Today he was on top form, and even scored a few tries himself in the half time ‘mascot sevens match’.

More about the team here, and a selection of today’s photos here.

ETA – much excitement – the 6 nations matches have been scheduled, time to start to filling in the diary!

January 1st 2010 - Brizzley!

Happy New Year to you Beth. The Pirates aren’t doing so badly this season, so I’m sure there’ll be a few more wins to come to you!

  3. Hi there

Great pictures of the mighty Bristol rugby on your blog and flickr sites. Well done, some good stuff.

What about adding them to the Bristol Rugby group on Flickr?

P.S. Don’t you mean Memorial Ground, not Park? 😉
